The services cloud computing are distinguished primarily in Public Cloud, Private Cloud and a composite form, called Hybrid Cloud. What are the advantages and disadvantages related to each solution? What would be the most appropriate service for your company?
We start to see more in detail what are the available cloud types.
Public cloud
The public cloud is provided by an external provider that, through the Internet, makes available IT resources necessary to support the business of a company. It is a cloud infrastructure is shared by multiple users, in which the provider is also responsible for configuring and managing the service.
Advantages:
Lower costs
One of the main benefits of the public cloud is very competitive costs, due to the elimination of the cost of purchasing and maintaining the IT infrastructure as well as the specialized personnel assigned to service management.
Potentially unlimited scalability
Resources are distributed "on demand", facilitating the change of the level of use.
Greater reliability
Taking advantage of public resources provides increased reliability of service delivery: even if an entire datacenter were to suffer downtime, the network would redistribute the load on the remaining, ensuring continuous access to resources.
Among the disadvantages on the other hand there is less data security, because access is not restricted to one organization. Similarly the data are not in the business but are stored within a shared infrastructure, which can not ensure a very high safety level.
Private cloud
The private cloud has the same basic characteristics of the public, with the difference that it is a solution dedicated to the single organization: the infrastructure is owned by the company, which has exclusive control of data and resources. Usually this type of cloud architecture is handled by our internal specialists, not by eliminating the cost of keeping dellla staff and IT infrastructure.
The big difference between public and private cloud then mainly concerns the placement of the data, which can be allocated to local ownership of the company or within a data center, but above the highest level of security, particularly useful for businesses that handle sensitive data.
Advantages:
Data security and more control over them
As we already mentioned, the main benefit of the private cloud than public resides in increased data security.

Companies that have to do with sensitive data such as financial institutions and banks, they need to protect their environment and through the private cloud can do so safely, having full control of the infrastructure.
Disadvantages:
Higher costs
The private cloud is a more expensive solution, and because it is a dedicated environment, and because it does not delete the costs of maintenance of the infrastructure and technical staff, as is the case in the public cloud. However, many providers offer a fully managed private cloud services that include management cloud in toto, allowing businesses who do not have specialized IT staff available to take advantage of the benefits of this solution.
And Cloud hybrid?
The hybrid cloud can be defined as a mix between the two previous solutions: provides an integrated use of the two structures, combining private and public cloud depending on the business needs. This is a more complex solution to manage, but certainly very versatile and capable of offering tailor the cloud configurations.
Now that we have seen the differences between the different types of cloud, what aspects to choose the most suitable for your business?
